Verismo Opera Company joins Vallejo’s Waterfront Weekend festival with an afternoon of beloved melodies from operas by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Donizetti, Strauss, Bizet and more. Join us in an open air concert at the Bandstand in Alden Park on historic Mare Island and celebrate with over 35 company members in our first performance since the beginning of the pandemic!

Nearby, sample wine at Vino Godfather, a brew at Mare Island Brew at the Coal sheds, have a shot of spirits at Savage and Cook across the street or visit St. Peter’s Chapel, home to one of the largest collections of Tiffany stained glass windows under one roof.

Parking is limited so arrive early or you can hop on a tour bus which departs from the Festival parking lot by the Vallejo Ferry Terminal every 30 minutes from 11 to 5pm and be transported by Verismo Opera’s vocal virtuosi accompanied by a live orchestra.

There will be limited seating provided. You may also want to bring a picnic blanket or a lawn chair!

Program highlights:

Sextet from Lucia di Lammermoor

Quartet from Rigoletto

Card Scene Trio from Carmen

Flower Duet from Madama Butterfly

“Libiamo” from La Traviata (bring your score and sing along with the chorus!)
